NOT UNTIL WE ARE LOST, DO WE BEGIN TO FIND OURSELVES...
While having breakfast, I was trying to look for something to watch. Suddenly, the headline catches my attention "Australia fires : Apocalypse Comes To Kangaroo Island". While going through the details, one question popped up in my head, "Who is responsible for this? Who is to be blamed for the death of half a billion of innocent animals and approximately 700 humans including the fire-fighters ?Is it us or the nature? Or can we simply relax with the thought that it is an annual phenomena that occurs? "
While the reporters continued to provide the latest update, their voices slowly started to fade as I entered in the world of the thoughts . As I was searching for the reason for the havoc, somewhere I again questioned "Can humans be blamed for all this? Are we blinded to the consequences of our actions? Have we lost ourselves? "
In this fast developing world, we are so much focused on development and growth, that we are surpassing the limits and are ignoring the facts, that our actions might lead to our destruction someday. Revolution has so much consumed the brains that the humans are just working like robots and are in competition to excel the other. But, this development is not only causing havoc in the nature, but also is degrading the humanity. Along with the different animals getting extinct, there is one more thing that is going with them i.e. Humanity.
We have forgotten who we are. We have forgotten the reason for our existence. We have forgotten ourselves. We are going on exploiting everything we have just for our benefits, later only to make special provisions to save the gifts we had. We are destroying the natural beauty and then conserving it in form of natural parks, sanctuaries, gardens etc. Firstly killing the animals for pleasure and benefits, only to later preserve them when they are about to extinct, and then name it as an achievement. Is it really an achievement? Is it really worth the praise, the awards and the medals?
Suddenly, my phone buzzes, breaking my bubble of thoughts. I close the television with a sigh, realizing it is us who is responsible for all the havoc occurring. But then I think, might be someday, we will get back to who we are, realizing our mistakes and amending them all. Someday might we become the HUMANS as we are expected to be. Might be all this revolution and development someday, gives us all a reason to search for the lost humanity ,as "Every cloud has a silver lining." I just hope, it is not too late until this happens. I hope its not too late to go back to ourselves and find us and be us because ,"Not until we are lost, do we begin to find ourselves".
